This position has a work schedule of 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The duties of the Facilities Expeditor shall include picking up and dropping off parts, mail, materials, etc. to assist all departments at Northern Air Cargo. In addition, the position shall provide assistance as needed to the GSE department and Facilities maintenance.
- Pick up and deliver mail, parcels, parts, equipment and other materials requested by the Director of Facilities and GSE.
- Operate forklifts, snow removal and sanding equipment, and other GSE equipment to provide assistance to the facilities and GSE departments.
- Provide assistance with facility maintenance work as directed by the Director of Facilities and GSE.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Knowledge of Anchorage and surrounding areas.
- Must have knowledge and experience operating large equipment with over size loads.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience with GSE and facilities projects.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Class B CDL preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The work is classified as “moderate” regarding the physical demands.
- Lifting/carrying requirements: Up to 100 pounds occasionally. Repetitions will vary with projects.
- Climbing: Up ladders and stairs.
- Reaching: Full range of motion may be required to perform the essential functions of this position. Perform the full range of maintenance and repair activities on building projects. Utilization of hand tools overhead and in other awkward positions as needed.
- Standing/Walking: 75% of the day. Concrete floor in the hangar. Paved yard. The shop floor can be wet seasonally. Must exercise caution when stepping around cables/cords, etc.
- Pushing/Pulling: Up to 100 pounds; required to perform general maintenance tasks throughout the shift.
- Crawling: Minimal crawling is required.
- Repetitive bending/Twisting: Occasional to moderate.
- Talking: Talking is required throughout the day. Speaking on the phone and reciprocal communication with co-workers will be required.
- Vision: Good vision is required to perform all tasks.
- Hearing: Good hearing is required for effective and safe communication with co-workers and to assess building maintenance problems.
- The job is mostly an indoor job. Exposure to hazardous materials, mechanical, electrical, and heat. Exposure to exhaust fumes, as well as welding and grinding fumes.
- Driving: In winter weather and harsh road conditions.
