 Silver Airways Full Jobs Description

Do you think you would be a good fit as our safety manager? To break it down, your workload would consist of 80% conducting ASAP, Fatigue, FOQA and Reporting processing and analysis/assessments (approx. 80-90 reports per month), will increase once FOQA is implemented and about 20% planning, documents review and reports. The Safety Manager has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Safety Programs and Safety Reporting. This includes supporting safety assessments and investigations. The Safety Manager will develop and manage the company Safety Programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, program standards and strive to enhance the program to meet corporate goals.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  •  Maintain the following Safety Programs in accordance with Company policy and FAA requirements
  •  FOQA Program – implement, develop, maintain and oversight with company leadership
  •  Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) – Flight Operations, Dispatch, Cabin and Maintenance
  •  Fatigue Program
  •  Company reporting program
  •  Provide education and act as subject matter expert on safety program matters
  •  Develop controls for the continuous improvement of safety programs
  •  Process incident reports, notification and tracking of corrective action for all operating department
  •  Conducts risk assessments and incident reporting to ensure hazards are mitigated, eliminated or accepted
  •  Review departmental corrective action plans (CAPs) for accuracy and effectiveness
  •  Track safety assessments and investigations, and corrective actions to ensure follow up and completion
  •  Conducts interfaces of safety programs and SMS
  •  Plan/conduct classroom and on the job training to support Event Review Committee, Fatigue Review Board and Safety Management Systems for workgroups
  •  Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Center staff or Go Team
  •  Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Director of Safety and executive leadership Develop and manage the budgetary requirements of the Safety Programs Minimum and preferred qualifications:
  •  One year in a supervisory or management position with program and personnel leadership responsibilities Three (3) years of experience with safety programs for an air carrier operating under Part 121 or equivalent
  •  Extensive, thorough knowledge of ASAP, FOQA, Fatigue and Incident Reporting programs
  •  Experience with and in-depth comprehension of safety attributes for processes and procedures, regulatory requirements, root cause analysis and investigation process
  •  Familiarity with risk modeling tools/approaches
  •  Demonstrated operational experience in flight operations
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in aviation, safety, or related field or additional equivalent years of experience
  •  Ability to travel to support investigations and emergency response program.
  •  Self-motivated, self-disciplined, reliable, dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  •  Discretion and ability to be maintain confidential information
  •  Strong organization and time management, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Windows including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
  •  Pilot, Dispatcher, mechanic or equivalent certification/experience preferred but not required
