Your role
- Document and keep current the Astral Distribution process and training material
- Ensure compliance with IATA, DOT and other industry standards for reservations and ticketing
- Complete of the business continuity plan for Distribution
- Delivery and coordination of training requirements for Astral reservations
- Working closely with the Customer Contact Centre and Operations training teams to ensure a consistent approach to Astral training
- Drive process improvements for reservations
- Ensure Distribution audits are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Review and internally audit reservations to ascertain if the correct contact information is being provided for disruption purposes including by third party travel sellers
- Work with our revenue accounting teams to track any errors occurring in reservations that can be remedied through additional training, documentation or system fixes
Your qualifications and key criteria
To be considered for the role of Distribution Quality & Compliance Specialist candidates must meet the following:
- Expert level Astral knowledge
- Ticketless and e-Ticketing expertise is required
- Experience of presenting information to management and other stakeholders
- Strong customer awareness
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence
- In-depth understanding of the customer journey through an airline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to accurately analyse and document processes and training material
- Good computer skills including experience with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation packages
- Proven analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy
- An enthusiastic team member with a flexible and positive attitude to work
- Excellent self-motivation, initiative, flexibility and commitment

Your role
The principal responsibilities of the Inflight Retail Manager are as follows:
- Partnership Management: Manage all stages of the retail partnership with Aer Lingus’ third party retail provider including, but not limited to, partnership performance reviews, issue resolution.
- Project Management: Manage the introduction of new Retail products including, but not limited to; project definition, milestone planning, issue resolution, risk mitigation, progress tracking, launch communications and post launch reviews.
- Customer Experience Enhancements: Work with the Aer Lingus Customer Experience and Operations teams to maintain and improve the quality of product delivery. Focus on analysing our “Voice of the Customer” survey to identify issues / opportunities and implement action plans based of this.
- Competitor Benchmarking: Perform regular competitor benchmark analysis to identify best practice regarding product offering, pricing and user experience.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Work alongside the Aer Lingus Finance team to analyse, report and forecast Retail product revenue and APS performance. Ownership of the development of annual budgets and regular forecast updates.
- Work alongside the Inflight Services Management team to analyse, report and forecast on all key areas of performance with particular focus on sick leave trends, KPIs, Recruitment
- Strategy Development: Define, in conjunction with the Head of Catering, the medium to long term strategy for overall Retail portfolio to support commercial objectives. Involves analysing and scoping changes required to existing products and proposed new products, as well as identifying all business requirements, cross functional dependencies and overall feasibility of the components of the Retail Strategy.
- Business Case Development: Develop business cases to support strategies, working across all areas of the business to assess risks, dependencies and potential benefits. Conduct cost benefit analyses for product enhancement and new product development.
Your qualifications and key criteria
To be considered for the role of Business Support & Inflight Retail Manager candidates must meet the following:
- Strong Project Management experience in a Retail environment – relevant qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
- Prior experience in role involving on strategy and business case development
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Business, Management, Marketing, Retail, Economics or related desirable
- Experience in managing a product portfolio and relevant revenue is desired
- Commercially focused to develop insights to support decision making and Retail strategy
- Goal orientated and results driven, ability to implement and deliver programmes/projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – including proven report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal stakeholders
- Decisive decision maker
- Passion for problem solving
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, commitment and flexibility
- Enthusiastic and imaginative with drive to seek out and implement new revenue opportunities
- Highly numerate with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Awareness and understanding of the commercial challenges facing Aer Lingus and the role of the inflight retail programme in contributing to Aer Lingus profitability
