Human Resources Business Partner Overview:
As a Human Resources Business Partner partners with business leaders to provide HR solutions and programs to meet business needs. This strategic thought leader advocates and champions the organization’s values and culture, and empowers leaders by developing leader acumen and capability.

Essential roles and responsibilities of a Human Resources Business Partner:

  • Partner closely with Sun Country leadership on business initiatives and employee engagement and drive alignment of leadership and employees in the business objectives of the organization.
  • Establish trusting relationships, develops an understanding of the business including operational drivers (financial, passenger experience, safety, etc.) to facilitate initiatives that drive business objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders by presenting multiple perspectives and challenging the status quo.
  • Provide expert-level consultation and support our leaders in all aspects of talent management and the employee lifecycle including, but not limited to: Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Employee & Labor Relations, Recruitment and Retention, Performance Management, and Total Rewards
  • Partners with leaders to align current and future business needs into an overall integrated HR plan for the function, focusing on opportunities that contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the business.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to drive improvements, communicate/implement new programs and respond to complaints/concerns in order to shape and champion our organization’s values and culture.
  • Models and fosters a culture of diversity, inclusion, learning and recognition, where all employees feel welcomed, valued and included.
  • Leads or consults on projects or programs related to organizational change, workforce planning, organizational design/restructuring, etc.

 The qualifications we are looking for in a Human Resources Business Partner include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • 5+ years of HR experience as a strategic partner
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create effective relationships throughout the organization
  • Proven ability to understand business goals and then design & implement new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of the HR function within the company
  • Solid knowledge of HR policies and practices, experience developing and implementing workforce and talent plans and experience with project management
  • Proven ability to seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity within a complex, dynamic and rapidly changing business environment
  • Proven ability to prioritize the most impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities
  • Success in leading and managing projects, some of which are large-scale, cross-functional, and require strong stakeholder management and alignment
