 Qatar Airways Shop Team Leader Jobs Description

The Qatar Distribution Company (QDC) is the only licensed retail distributor of wines and spirits in Qatar. The store has a wide range of beverages that can be purchased by licensed hotels and qualifying private individuals.

About the role

Responsible to assist Unit Manager and Duty Manager to manage shift operations, with a particular focus on sales and gross profit targets through excellent customer service and effective management of the shop sales team. Coordinates interaction between the shop and the warehouse to ensure first class merchandising and customer service at all times.

  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignment, setting priorities, and direct work of shop team, ensuring all tasks are carried out in safe, timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and address any issues in relation with shop operations, maintain the appearance of retail shop.
  • Coordinates the movement of stock from the warehouse to shop, ensuring proper stock rotation, full shelves and correct displays at all times.
  • Undertaking regular price checks ensures shelves are full, posters and signage correct.
  • Conduct on the job training for all retail staff according to schedule.
  • Handle customer collection of permits issued by main office carefully checking details and photographs; handle any permit issues raised by sales or security staff
  • Assign proper staff deployment on weekly basis to ensure service sequence is maintained at high standards at all times.
  • Monitor sales and promotions target during the shift and motivate the staff to achieve set target.
  • Conduct proactive coaching and feedback session with the team, ensuring staff performance are monitored regularly
  • Ensure customer service counter is manned at all times and any queries dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner.

Qualifications

About You

  • Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Previous experience with a structured hygienic environment, working to international standards.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language
  • Proven ability to manage staff on day to day basis Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge about alcohol product, wine and spirits.
