Gem Air Full Jobs Description
We are looking for an experienced A&P Mechanic to join our team as we grow. Our ideal candidate is not afraid of hard work, is well organized, works well independently and with a team, and has experience for our supported manufactures: Cessna, Piper, Lycoming, Pratt and Whitney and Continental.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (but aren’t limited to):
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft while following both FAA and company requirements and standards.
- Comply with 14 CFR (as applicable), manufacturer’s specifications, company policies and procedures, as well as other methods accepted by the FAA, when accomplishing maintenance.
- Assist with keeping all aircraft, equipment, and maintenance area facilities in compliance with all FAA, OSHA, industry and company guidelines.
- Assist in keeping all workspaces and equipment clean, orderly, and in good working condition.
- Assist with moving, fueling, re-configuring, and cleaning aircraft, when needed.
- Adhere to material handling and control procedures specified in company manuals and by the equipment manufacturer.
- Assist with other duties as needed.
- Conduct yourself in a professional business manner at all times.
- Be aware that your behavior sets the example for other team members.
- Be honest, fair and ethical in all dealings with team members as well as courteous and respectful to all customers, governmental agencies and vendors
Job Requirements:
- Current Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
- Preferred a minimum three years’ professional aircraft maintenance work experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.
- Preferred candidates will have experience with single-engine piston Cessnas, Cessna Caravans, Britten-Norman Islanders, and twin-engine Pipers.
- Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions.
- Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes. Must take instruction and guidance well.
- Must work well in team situations and also as an individual.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks which include bending, stooping, kneeling and working overhead for long periods of time.
- Must have a valid US driver’s license.
- Is trainable, open to instruction and able to apply learning.
- This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- Must exhibit knowledge of Gem Air and embody the Gem Air spirit.
- Please note this is a safety sensitive position. Pre-employment drug testing is required, and position is subject to random testing throughout employment.

Gem Air Full Jobs Description
We currently do not have any pilot positions open.
When we are hiring pilots, our year-round position applicants must meet Part 135 IFR minimums, including 100 night hours and 1200 total hours. We generally do not hire with under 1500 hrs.
Our seasonal summer position applicants must have their multi-engine rating complete (or arrive early and hire us to obtain your multi) and are legally required to have a minimum of 500 hours – we generally do not hire anyone with under 1000 hours.
