About your role

We are recruiting for Manager Warranty and Repair Cycle to join our Team in Technical Supply Chain Department.

In this role, you will manage Warranty and Guarantee functions of Qatar Airways Technical. You will plan and manage the warranty repair of all Components, in-house and at overseas agencies. You will recover maximum benefits from various contracts and agreements executed with OEM’s, aircraft manufacturers, Engine manufacturers, approved vendors, authorized repair stations and maintenance repair agencies. You will control their costs and enhance their availability in order to reduce airline’s unit cost of operation.

Specific responsibilities of the role includes the following:

• Develops strategic planning for warranty related activities and manages the Warranties and Guarantees for all the fleet with Qatar Airways or its customers under ownership or leased basis.
• Develop and set-up systems and procedures for coordination, liaison and collaboration within business unit and other sections.
• Establishes parameters and framework for planning, budgeting and performance management of the business unit.
• Develops warranty awareness program to educate and familiarize all affected personnel of certain policies and procedures and warranty limits.
• Monitors, manages, implements and enforces the warranty conditions of Product Support Agreements, Purchase Agreement and General Terms and Conditions for remedies, recovery, warranty adjudication and all warranty factors to the benefit of the organization.
• Manages the performance of the business unit and directs remedial action for any deviation/ shortfalls/ deficiencies.
• Ensures effective implementation of warranties on components to recover maximum warranty repair benefits from the various contracts and agreements.
• Investigates cases reported to warranty such as Technical Occurrence, Incidents or Accidents Reports and recommend corrective/ closing action to management.
• Manages the warranty Department within its operational budget parameters.
• Participates with Technical Supply chain in the contracts and tender negotiations and selection of the best service provider for Qatar Airways components warranty repairs and services.
• Manages the team in their work planning and organization, establishes monitoring and control systems to meet business requirements.
• Develops team members in their skills in work and motivation in line with corporate objectives.
• Establishes the team’s objectives, plans, procedure and practices and makes appropriate changes if required.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
• Completed Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• With minimum of 8 years of job related experience.
• Experience in Warranty, Engineering, Planning, and Maintenance departments in an airline/ MRO.
• Experience with various support contracts eg. Product Support Agreements, Supplier Support Conditions.
• Able to identify potentially critical issues and define mitigation plans.
• Excellent in contract interpretation, has good judgement and a skilled negotiator.
• Preferably has completed courses in Airline Technical Warranty Administration.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Good knowledge in Aircraft, Engines and other maintenance support contracts/ agreements.
• Strong leadership skills and good attention to details.
• Has strong drive and enthusiasm to be able to deliver change and improvement.
• Strong analytical, comparative, innovative and creative skills.
• Advanced knowledge of MS – Office suite
• Excellent communication skills. Strong command of English language.
• Able to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong leadership skills.
